Sidney 9, Greene 4
GREENE – Greene ran the basepaths virtually unfettered stealing 14 bases against the Trojans in Wednesday’s victory.
Four of the Warriors’ eight hits were of the infield variety, and six of the runs scored came after drawing walks or reaching on an infield hit.
“We were very flat from the start, and were just outhustled tonight,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton. “They put pressure on us with their running game, and we didn’t respond nearly as well as I hoped. It’s disappointing because we have been playing good baseball, and I know we’re better. I feel the kids will bounce back tomorrow.”
Andy Kozak had three hits for Sidney, and Nate McDonald went 2-for-4 at the plate.
Sidney will entertain Greene (7-3) today.
