NORWICH – Governor David Paterson has proclaimed May 12, 2010 as Health Care Auxilian Day in New York State to recognize the dedicated auxilians who annually donate more than five million hours of service to their health care facilities and to their communities. The administration of Chenango Memorial Hospital is thankful to the Auxiliary and volunteers for all they do to assist in supporting the hospital and its mission. Chenango Memorial Hospital’s auxilians and volunteers donated 17,000 hours of service during 2009 and the Auxiliary recently announced its annual donation from money raised during 2009 - $50,000 toward the purchase of a central fetal monitoring system for the Newborn Family Center. In addition, over the past year the Auxiliary contributed over $10,000 for landscaping and beautification, patient care an comfort projects, outreach, scholarships for students choosing health care careers, and employee appreciation.
