Sherburne-Earlville 4, Morrisville-Eaton 0
SHERBURNE – Derrick Ferris pitched his first career shutout leading Sherburne-Earlville in its victory over Morrisville-Eaton Tuesday.
Ferris had four strikeouts, one walk, and gave up just four hits. He was backed by strong defense that committed just a single error. “The infield played really well, I bet we had 15 groundball outs,” said S-E coach Brian Hicks.
S-E doubled its lead from two to four with a two-run sixth. Joe Moses doubled to start the inning, and he scored on a Jobie Gage triple. Gage came in on Tad Mapes’ single.
Moses was a perfect 3-for-3, Ferris was 2-for-2, and Gage had two hits in three at-bats.
S-E (5-10) hosts Sauquoit Valley today.
