VESTAL – Vestal High School will host the 2010 Section IV state qualifier beginning today at 3 p.m.

Juniors Chad Noelle of Greene and Katie Woodford of Oxford enter the qualifier as top seeds, as is B-G/Afton senior Mike Loitsch. Noelle has the best times this season it the 1,600- and 3,200-meter races, while Woodford is the number one seed in the 100-meter dash. Loitsch is the top seed in the 200-meter dash. Below are events in which local athletes are among the top-four seeds in their respective events:

100m dash: 1, Katie Woodford, Oxford, 12.04; 2, Kamari Canady, Binghamton, 12.14; 3, Casey Lee, Maine-Endwell, 12.44.

400m dash: 1, Lindsey Seymour, Southside, 56.54; 2, Katie Woodford, Oxford, 57.09; 3, Erika Kisel, Waverly, 57.74.
