NORWICH – Residents of Chenango County will have the opportunity to experience an entertainment-filled Fourth of July celebration this weekend as the Norwich Firefighters Association will kick off its annual Field Days festivities at 5 p.m. tonight, at the Chenango County Fairgrounds.
Between 2,500 and 3,500 spectators are expected throughout the weekend, which features a wide variety of games, rides, music, food, drinks and of course, fireworks, said Norwich Firefighters Association Vice President and Field Days co-chair Wayne Law, who added there is no cost of admission for tonight’s festivities, although food or monetary donations will be accepted at the gate.
While DJ Frank Goodrich will provide musical entertainment tonight, the focus Saturday and Sunday will be on live music, with performances on Saturday by local acts Hailey and Shawn, L.J. Gates, Solar Funk Society, Jason Wicks, K.T. and the Mad Dogs and Panhandle, beginning at 1 p.m.
