CHERRY VALLEY – At Cherry Valley-Springfield Tuesday, Unadilla Valley I improved its Otsenango Pony League record to 6-0 with a comfortable victory.

Josh Rutherford had four hits for UV, and winning pitcher Brett Smith had three hits, and Brandon Miles had three-quarters of the cycle with a single, double, and triple. Nate Shackelton had two hits and Chris Emerson delivered an RBI sacrifice bunt as UV jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning, and never looked back.

Last Friday, UV pulled away from Milford with seven runs in the fourth to prevail, 12-3. Miles was a dual threat tossing a complete-game victory with 13 strikeouts, and he had a homer and four RBI on the offensive side. Smith had three hits, Dakota Kolvik picked up a pair of hits, Kurt Haycook scored two runs, and Matt Morlock belted and RBI triple.
