Ticked off? You bet!

Ticked off? You bet!

That ought to be the slogan for this period in America. For, in case you’ve missed it, lots of folks are angry. Writer-historian Victor Davis Hanson recently listed what he thought angered us most. For me, one item rankled more than the others: Law – what law?

His point is that the law is now malleable. He cites the deal at Chrysler. Where government ignored law. It took money from people who Chrysler owed and give it to the unions. He cites the shakedown of BP. “Of course,  BP is demonic in its Gulf performance, but where does Obama obtain the legal right to demand $20 billion in confiscated capital (why then not…$200 billion?).”

A lot of folks feel anger when they read that various cities have declared they will ignore immigration law. They declare themselves sanctuary cities. Where illegal immigrants won’t be prosecuted. In their anger folks wonder how liberal elites in such cities would feel if other cities called a holiday on rape and murder laws. Come to Fresno and molest children at will. In other words, aren’t all laws supposed to be enforced?

Various government officials cheated on their taxes. Because they were “needed” for their jobs they were not prosecuted. Most of us know that if we are caught cheating, the IRS would prosecute. “But my job is so important …” won’t cut it for us.
