Local massage therapist rubbing people the right way

NORWICH – According to Chenango Massage Therapy owner and licensed massage therapist Jim Dennis, there are three things which have made his downtown business a success since he relocated to 30 South Broad St.– professional service, a relaxing atmosphere and competitive prices which are “right on target for this area.”

Since October of 2009, the Preston native, who had previously practiced with Norwich Massage Therapy, Route 33 in the Town of Norwich, has operated out of the small facility located behind Nina’s Pizzeria and the Cafe Connection, a move he decided upon due to the building’s central location and the convenience that provides for his growing customer base.

“I found myself coming into the city all the time and it just seemed like it would be more convenient for myself and my clientele, especially during the winter months,” said Dennis, who added he’d acquired approximately 100 new clients since the relocation. “I’m extremely dedicated to this business and I love my job, which is something not everyone can say. I love coming to work every day.”

Unlike some in the massage business, Dennis reported his establishment is focused less on “recreational” massage and concentrates “primarily on problem fixing,” including muscle spasms, carpal tunnel syndrome, whiplash, thoracic outlet syndrome, stress, back and neck problems.
