Norwich 4, Afton 0
NORWICH – On senior recognition night, the Tornado brought home their first win of the season in a shutout victory over winless Afton Monday night.
Ryan Tomanocy was credited with NHS’s first goal after a scramble in front of the goal and a failed clear attempt by the Crimson Knights’ defense. David Jones connected on a shot from 20 yards out, and Cameron Prime converted a penalty kick for the three-goal halftime lead.
“It was a case where we figured out how to pass the ball, and we passed it well most of the game,” said Norwich coach John McCumiskey. “This was a good way for the seniors to go out. It’s been a difficult journey for them.”
Kieran Coffey had the lone goal of the second half when he cleaned up a deflection off the Afton defense midway through the period.
