Hamilton 2, S-E 1
SHERBURNE – Jessica Welsh’s second goal of the game with 8:36 remaining wa the difference in Hamilton’s victory over Sherburne-Earlville Wednesday.
Brooke Furner had assists on both of Welsh’s goals, the latter a picture-perfect crossing pass that was swept into the cage.
S-E, down by a goal at halftime, got the equalizer from Ashley Cappadonia, who hammered in a shot after a penalty corner entry pass from Kirstie Hackett.
“We had many opportunities tonight, we just didn’t finish well,” said S-E coach Sheila Cooman. “We spent a lot of time in their defensive end. The kids are getting better and we’re controlling the ball better.”
S-E plays at Herkimer today.
