Greene competes in Class C swim meet
Greene took home a sixth-place finish at the Section IV, Class C swimming meet last weekend to close the 2010 campaign.
The 400-yard free relay team of Jenny Yeager, Deanna Bay, Moriah McCauley, and Jessica Brooks earned the first second-place finish in that event in school history, and had the second-best time in school history (4:05.19), said head coach Mike Platta. “Three of those four swimmers return,” Platta said. “So the future looks bright.”
Brooks added a third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.53), and Yeager was third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.79).
“I wasn’t disappointed by the finish at all,” Platta said. “Every single swimmer on the team swam at sectionals, and our goals were pretty well defined. They all got a chance to see what sectionals are all about, and everyone swam their best time at sectionals. I would say it was a successful season.”
