GREENE – Area residents will have the opportunity to usher in the holiday season as the local non-profit theater group SRO Productions III presents “A Greene Christmas” on Saturday in the Greene High School Auditorium.
“The production is a song and dance revue of old and new holiday favorites,” described Alexandra Mendoza, who sits on the board of directors of the Binghamton-based group, which has brought high quality, entertaining performances to local audiences since 1983.
Joining the theater troupe in the production will be dancers from the Step Up and Dance studio in Greene.
While the curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m., Mendoza encourages those planning to attend the performance to arrive a little early.
“Santa will be making an appearance at 7 p.m., half an hour prior to the show, so that he can spread Christmas cheer and candy with families,” she explained.
The entire production, which will be narrated by Mrs. Claus, is geared toward families, Mendoza said, and will include “upbeat song and dance numbers ..., classic a capella tunes, a gospel Hallelujah ... and beautiful solo/duet renditions of classic Christmas tunes.”
