The Second Tuesday’s Film For December Is “Gasland”
Published: December 9th, 2010

NORWICH – The third offering of the “Second Tuesday Monthly Film Series” continues to explore the issue of natural gas drilling by showing the much publicized film “Gasland”  at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Founders’ Room at the UCC, First Congregational church, 11 West Main St., Norwich.

The public is invited and as always, the admission is free;  attendees can arrive early for refreshments and stay awhile for discussion afterwards. It is just requested that one not park in the church’s parking lot, but rather either on the street;  in the nearby Hayes St. or county office building public lots.

“This film informs not only about the hydro-fracking technology for natural gas drilling being planned in New York State but also tells of the potential risks as community residents throughout the country speak about their ruined health, polluted water wells and destroyed property values,” said Chris Brunner.

The film screening is sponsored by Chenango County Peace Action and Chenango Community Action for Renewable Energy.  For further information, e-mail ccare@frontier.com or call Brunner at 334-6095.
