NEW BERLIN – This weekend, area churches and the Village of New Berlin will be coming together to celebrate the “Spirit of Christmas.”

On Saturday, church volunteers, firemen and students will be handing out food baskets, toys and clothing donations to local families.

A few blocks away, other volunteers for the Village of New Berlin and the Freemasons will be welcoming children to see Santa Claus at the Masonic Lodge along North Main Street.

From 1 to 3 p.m., parents can take their children to the lodge and get their picture taken with Santa Claus, sponsored by the village. Besides the free photograph, refreshments and crafts will also be available.
