Sherburne-Earlville 67, Unadilla Valley 32
NEW BERLIN – Sherburne-Earlville raced to a 20-point lead after one quarter of play Monday night, and cruised into the finals of the Unadilla Valley Holiday Tournament.
Branden McDaniel scored a career-high 26 points for the Marauders, while Randy Briggs added 10. McDaniel had eight and Briggs six points leading S-E to a 28-8 first-quarter advantage.
“They played very aggressive full-court defense in the first quarter, and they totally took us out of our offense,” said UV coach Matt Osborne, who said he had two starters out of the lineup.
Mitch MacDuff had eight points for UV, who play Walton today at 4:30 p.m. S-E faces Oneonta in the championship game at 7:45 p.m.
