Harpursville 67, Unadilla Valley 45
HARPURSVILLE – Harpursville senior Hannah Kimmel scored 36 points, and passed the Section IV scoring record Wednesday night against Unadilla Valley.
Kimmel needed 25 points to top the record, and had 19 in the opening quarter as UV trailed 28-9. “She came down the floor and went to the bucket, and we couldn’t stop her,” said UV coach Brandi Backus. “She was going to get her points tonight.”
Jordan Anderson scored 21 for UV and Amanda Off had 16. The Storm outscored Harpursville, 29-26 in the second half. “This was probably Jordan’s best game of the year, and Amanda did a good job,” Backus said.
Kimmel has 2,217 career points passing Candor’s Megan Shay, who had 2,205.
UV hosts Oxford Friday at 7:15 p.m.
