NORWICH – For a tenth straight year, the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus will sponsor a two-day bus trip this weekend to Washington, D.C., and the annual March for Life. Since its inception in 1974, thousands have walked in the March for Life in protest of abortion and related legislation.
Over the past two decades, between 100,000 and 250,000 pro-life advocates have typically participated in the annual event, which Norwich Knights of Columbus Grand Knight Jim Reynolds calls a life-changing experience.
“This is one of those things that you really have to experience to understand,” said Reynolds. “There’s just a whole lot of emotion and a lot of excitement.”
Reynolds said he feels it’s important to get more area youths involved in the March for Life this year, and he’s concerned with the lack of education displayed by many when it comes to the issue of abortion.
