NORWICH – The Chenango County grand jury met last week and indicted ten individuals with a number of felonies.
At the proceedings, the District Attorney’s Office presents evidence against those they wish to prosecute as a felon, and the jury decides if there is enough reasonable cause to charge a person.
• Wyatt E. McDonough, 52, 132 Ingraham Rd., Greene, was indicted on two counts of predatory sexual assault against a child, a class A-II felony, two counts of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a B class felony and one count of second degree criminal sexual, a D class felony.
State Police investigators said McDonough’s arrest was the result of a week-long investigation initiated by the State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
D.A. Joseph McBride said the allegations involved a history of sexual abuse against a child as young as eight years old, over the last six years. According to the indictment the crimes occurred between 2004 and 2007.
McBride said in an earlier court hearing McDonough was filming he and the child performing sexual acts and distributing them over the Internet.
McBride also explained Wyatt was previously indicted for similar charges, but due to a technical error the DA’s Office decided to dismiss the prior indictment and re-indict the defendant.
