NORWICH – The Chenango County Historical Society will unveil its latest exhibit – A Flash From the Past: Chenango County Photographers – from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the county museum, 45 Rexford St.
The exhibit features dozens of historical photographs and equipment from the county’s early days – following the invention of modern photography – through the late 1970s, as well as biographies on area photographers and information on photographic inventions which originated in Chenango County, according to CCHS Director Alan Estus.
In addition, the work of familiar area photographers such as Casey Jones, Wes Gould and Gordon Hawley will be on display, said Estus. Hawley, along with wife Louise, was instrumental in the creation of the display, he added, supplying cameras from his collection and contributing funds to offset a portion of expenses for the exhibit.
