Spirit Week at NHS took an unexpected turn on Wednesday as the juniors and sophomores of the White Team – widely regarded as a major underdog going into the competition – took a 30-point lead over the seniors and freshmen of the Purple Team.
According to Pep Club advisor Lansing Dimon, the White Team has built-up a sizable advantage mid-way through the competition with a score of 261 to the Purple’s 231. He did note, however, that there’s plenty of time remaining for a Purple Team comeback, especially with tonight’s Talent Show and Friday’s Pep Rally and Spirit Night still to come.
Sixteen competitors will perform at the 7:30 p.m. Talent Show – to be held tonight in the high school auditorium – and Student Government Treasurer Frank Somich said he expects a large turnout. The show is open to the public and admission is $2.
