Windsor 13, Norwich 0
WINDSOR – Norwich ran into the number one team in the state Tuesday, and came up empty on the scoreboard.
Windsor pitcher Cara Martin tossed a one-hit shutout victory striking out eight batters. Martin was aided by Emma Benson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, and Shelly Tucker who had a two hits and four RBI.
“There is a reason they are the number one team in the state,” said Norwich coach Dennis Eaton of Windsor. “They hit the ball well and have one heck of a pitcher.”
Norwich’s Jamie Berger had seven strikeouts in the loss, and the Norwich defense played its first error-free game this season.
