It is said there are few constants in life. One is death. Another, taxes. Afton Community Theater knows there is one more! Someone willing to rip you off. Set those diabolically misguided intentions to music, and what do you have?
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels!
Afton Community Theater is pleased to present “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” a musical based on the popular 1988 movie by the same name. The show’s plot centers around two con men living in the French Riviera, Lawrence (played by Dave Hawkins) a smooth-talking sophisticated gent, glad to swindle the fine ladies out of their gems, and Freddy (played by Mike Jacobs), a small-time con with a big story. “My grandma’s sick. Surely you can spare a dollar ...”
The two meet and quickly realize the town isn’t big enough for them both. A wager is made. The first to swindle 50k from heiress Christine Colgate (played by Kayleigh Shuler) wins the bet. The other, leaves town.
A hysterical battle of cons ensues, sure to leave laughter echoing in the theater, long after the curtain has closed.
Lawrence, Freddy and Christine are joined in the mayhem by Max Mason, as Andre, Kim Webster as Muriel, and Jordan Griffiths as Jolene.
