NORWICH – Since forming three years ago, Syracuse-based rockers Silent Fury have opened for the likes of Bret Michaels, the Spin Doctors, the Goo Goo Dolls, Warrant, Vertical Horizon and Vince Neil, of Motley Crue fame. At 9:30 p.m. Friday, the band will take to the Blarney Stone Pub stage for its debut Norwich performance.
Fronted by guitarist and vocalist Mick Fury, the trio also features bassist Joe Nasty and drummer Goose. With the band’s wide range of influences – from Nickelback to the Beatles, The Allman Brothers Band to Journey and Guns n’ Roses – people can expect a unique and top-notch performance, according to Fury.
“We try to write hard-core, angry love songs, but they’re not all angry,” laughed the guitarist, a three-time nominee for Syracuse’s version of the Grammys, known as the Sammy Awards. “I don’t mind a cheesy love song if it hits me just right, though.”
