OXFORD – For those of you who were longing for more of the award winning band “North Sea Gas,” they’re returning to 6 On The Square (6OTS) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. This will be their third time at the Oxford venue, and if three’s a charm, they’re sure to charm you with their talent and jolly good humor. If you’re new to North Sea Gas, they’re one of Scotland’s most popular bands, and have been wowing audiences all over the world for over three decades. They have performed live, appeared on television and on radio shows in America, China, Canada, Germany, Austria, Scotland and many other destinations. Still going strong, this highly entertaining Scottish folk band are coming to fill the room with their tremendous harmonies and “great craic.”
North Sea Gas is Dave Gilfillan, Ronnie MacDonald and Grant Simpson, all great Scots, performing music from the traditional to contemporary, with unique twists that are all their own. Their terrific vocals, with manly three-part harmonies, and tales of Scotland are accompanied by a myriad of instruments: guitars, mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, bodhran, whistles and banjo. With their rousing sing-along vocals and big heartfelt ballads, North Sea Gas adds to that a sense of on stage fun and tongue-in-cheek humor.
