NORWICH – Hospice of Chenango County will offer a two day children’s grief camp, ‘Camp 4 Seasons’ Wednesday, July 13 and Thursday, July 14. ‘Camp 4 Seasons’ will be held in Norwich and is open to any child, ages six to sixteen. There is no fee and no prior association with Hospice is required. The camp is designed to help young people understand grief and loss and discover ways they can cope with the stress.
At ‘Camp 4 Seasons’ kids will learn they aren’t alone in their grief. The camp will provide a safe place to share and explore loss with the support of counselors, volunteers, and other campers. “Our goal is to send kids back into the world with skills to help them cope with this loss and others they will face in their lifetime” says Hospice Bereavement Coordinator, Maureen Casey-Bryant. She says that ‘Camp 4 Seasons’ is Hospice’s opportunity to teach children healthy ways to express their feelings, meet others who are experiencing similar losses, and continue life while honoring the lost loved one.
