SHERBURNE – Frontier Communications announced today that it is adding 77 new jobs at its Sherburne Plant Service Center. This is in addition to the 52 jobs the company added earlier this year, bringing total employment in the Sherburne facility to approximately 280.
“Frontier is growing by leaps and bounds here in Chenango County and we are delighted that we can continue to add jobs in this community,” shared Jim Currie, vice president of field operations for the company’s Northeast region.
Positions in repair, dispatch, test and assignment, as well as supervisory roles are available. The added staff will convert new access lines in 14 states that Frontier Communications acquired from Verizon at the beginning of 2010 and provide support to field technicians located in 26 states.
Currie said the Sherburne Plant Service Center was specifically selected to add workers because of its reputation.
“We have a good reputation within the corporation for being able to get things done,” he said.
