Unadilla Valley 3, Oxford 1
OXFORD – Unadilla Valley’s Jennifer Elliott scored her team’s second goal of the game 5:09 into the second half. That goal would be enough for the Storm in Thursday’s victory at Oxford.
The Blackhawks (3-4-1), winners of three straight coming into the game, answered Elliott’s goal just 11 seconds later when Julianne Heggie tallied off an Emily Smith pass. “We passed the ball well and controlled it,” said Oxford coach Kathleen Cragle. “I thought we would gain some momentum after our goal, but the second half was pretty even.”
Jordan Anderson had 13 saves for UV, and her play in goal was pinpointed by Cragle as a key to the Storm’s win. Taylor Davis had the first and third goals for the Storm.
