Bainbridge-Guilford 2, Oxford 1

BAINBRIDGE – B-G’s Adam Bauerle tucked in the winning goal with two minutes remaining to give the Bobcats the victory over Oxford Friday.

Bauerle was on the spot after a missed shot rebounded from the top of the crossbar to his waiting feet. “It was well played and evenly matched between two old rivals,” said Oxford coach Jim Champlin. “There was a lot of sportsmanship and respect between the two teams, but no lack of energy and passion. It was an exciting game to watch.”

Brooks Harmon scored early in the second half to put B-G (5-6) in the lead. Jake McConnell tied the game for Oxford following a deflected shot by teammate Chris Marks.

Sherburne-Earlville 2, Canastota 1

SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville responded to an unfortunate bounce in the first half with its own stroke of good fortune in the second half.

S-E’s Bryan Palmer took a pass from Cody Hill, and his shot deflected off a Canastota player into the net for the game-winner.

Canastota knotted the game in the first half in similar fashion when Jared Gibson-Faber’s shot richocheted off an S-E defender. The Marauders (7-3-1) took the early lead on a Trevor Bays goal.
