“A Festival Of Quilts” Comes To Oxford

OXFORD – The Chenango Piecemakers’ biennial quilt show, “A Festival of Quilts” is Oct. 8, 9 & 10, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day. It is in the gymnasium of the Oxford High School, 50 South Washington Ave. The high school has ample parking and is handicap accessible. Admission is $4 for adults, children under 12 free (must be accompanied by an adult). Refreshments will be provided by the Girl Scouts and Methodist Church Women. Over 250 quilts will be on display, along with a special vignette of antique quilts. There will be demonstrations, vendors and the “Guild Gift Shop” with items for sale, handmade by the Chenango Piecemakers.  

Eugenia Barnes, AQS Certified and nationally renowned Quilt Appraiser, will be giving verbal appraisals free of charge for new or vintage quilts or quilted clothing from 10-3: on Saturday (limit 2 items per person). From 3-4, she will provide written appraisals for insurance.  Written appraisals are $35 each and require an appointment. If you are interested in a written appraisal, call Kim a843-6837 for a time slot.  If there is enough interest, Barnes will return on Sunday for written appraisals.
