Cross Country
NORWICH – At Gibson Elementary School Tuesday, Norwich celebrated senior recognition day with a sweep of Susquehanna Valley. Sarah Spittler paced the girls to a 21-34 victory timing a 23:28 over the 3.1-mile course. On the boys’ side, John Mooney and Matt Murray placed first and third respectively in a 23-34 win.
Elsewhere for the Tornado, Sydney Chaffee and Martha Clemens were third and fourth among the 10-girl field.
NHS’s Jamie Zieno and Nuri Harper took fifth and sixth for Norwich as 18 boys participated in the race.

GREENE – Greene’s unblemished mark reached 9-0 Tuesday against longtime rival Afton as Jahna Driscoll scored a pair of goals for the Trojans.
Driscoll was set up each time by junior Emily Conroe, and Conroe made it three assists when she fed Cathy Stahl. Stahl took a pass on the right side of the penalty circle, dribbled once, and blasted the ball in.
