NORWICH – Fifteen nonprofit organizations in the region, including eleven in Broome, Chenango and Tioga counties, received grants totaling $147,247 from the Community Foundation for South Central New York in the Foundation’s Fall 2011 competitive grant cycle and from Special Funds held at the Foundation. The grants, which were awarded through a volunteer panel and Board review process, will be used to fund flood relief and a variety of capital projects, operations and programs at the various organizations.

Community Fund grants for Chenango include:

Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES $10,000 toward support of a Service Learning Program in partnership with local non-profits (Multi-county)

Opportunities for Chenango $10,000 towards operating support for a financial literacy program for low-income families (Broome/Chenango)
