OXFORD – The Oxford Village Board addressed concerns regarding the Main Street bridge replacement project at Tuesday night’s meeting.
According to Mayor Terry Stark, the bridge will still be completed by next fall, despite questions regarding fire and ambulance response times.
“We should have everything set by the end of the week ... we won’t have serious delays,” said Stark.
Currently, the village’s fire and rescue vehicles, as well as both village ambulances, are situated on the east side of the bridge. With the Main Street bridge closed for at least a year, emergency vehicles would have to make a four-mile detour to reach the Rt. 220 bridge north of town.
