OTEGO – A cold shooting performance combined with an abundance of turnovers in the first three quarters overshadowed the standout games of B-G’s Ryan Porter and Austin Bauerle in Thursday night’s loss at Unatego.

The Spartans’ Travis Woods and Phil Youngs led a deep lineup in which 11 players contributed to the scoring column.

“We weren’t patient enough in our halfcourt offense, and we just turned it over too much,” said B-G coach Greg Warren. “When we were patient, we were pretty darn good with our halfcourt offense.”

Porter’s offensive game came to life in second half. Porter had 22 of his season-high 26 points over the final two periods to go with nine rebounds and four blocked shots. Bauerle controlled the boards grabbing a season-best 19 rebounds. Brooks Harmon chipped in with 12 points for B-G (2-4).
