CHENANGO COUNTY – Approximately 200 Chenango County NYSEG customers were without power as of this morning due to heavy winds that damaged power lines and downed tree limbs in many areas.

The towns of Greene and McDonough were the hardest hit, with more than 130 and 45 residences reporting power outages respectively, according to NYSEG’s online Outage Viewer. As of press time, the Norwich and Chenango County Joint Emergency Operations Center reported wind gusts of between 30 and 40 miles per hour over the course of Thursday night and into Friday, accompanied by sleet and hail.
