Elmira Notre Dame 55, Bainbridge-Guilford 28
ELMIRA – Elmira Notre Dame started Thursday’s game on a 12-0 run, and never trailed to advance to the Section IV Class C finals.
Detta Dublo led three Crusaders in double figures scoring finishing with 17 points. Elmira polished off the Bobcats outscoring them in the fourth quarter, 20-6.
“All year long, when we’ve played on a day off from school, we just haven’t played well,” said B-G coach Bob Conway. “We played well the other day at Lansing, but Elmira was the better team tonight, and we had trouble putting points on the board.”
B-G missed five layups in the opening period, empty possessions that may have changed the tenor of the game. “Their players were pretty lengthy, and that made it tough for us on both ends of the floor,” Conway said. “We were boxing out, but still getting outrebounded.”
Randi Conway scored 13 points for B-G in the loss.
