NORWICH – The Norwich City School District will hold its annual Music In Our Schools concert at 7 tonight in the high school gymnasium. The performance was postponed following Thursday’s school closures – due to inclement weather – and other scheduling issues, according to school officials.
Since 1973, the National Association for Music Education has recognized March as Music In Our Schools Month and focused on the significant role music plays in students’ education. The Norwich City School District’s Music Department has participated in the nationwide program since 2000 and tonight’s concert will feature both instrumental and vocal performances by students grades 5 through 12, representing Perry Browne and the middle and high schools.
There is no cost of admission for tonight’s concert, but due to limited seating, those planning to attend may wish to arrive early.
