NORWICH – YMCA Men’s Corporate Basketball League leader, Blueox Energy Products, coasted to an 89-69 victory over Pro Tel Monday night in the final week of regular season games.
Brian Collier led his club to a 45-33 lead at the break scoring 18 of his team-high 22 points.
Pro Tel closed the Blueox lead under 10 points just one time when Nate Ford drove for a layup with 15 1/2 minutes remaining in the second half to make it a 61-52. Blueox responded by outscoring Pro Tel 20-10 over the next 12 minutes with Amos Parry’s layup giving Blueox its biggest lead, 83-62.
Zach Williams and Parry had 11 points each in the second half, and finished with 19 and 15 points respectively. Robert Martin added 14 points in the win.
Garrett Porack scored 24 to pace Pro Tel, who will meet Enlightened Dentistry next week in the first round of playoff action. Tom Gould chipped in with 17 points, and Jeff Champlin added 10.
