SHERBURNE – For nearly a year, the volunteer group Friends of Rogers has been steadily holding its own as an organization and now, the group is planning to host its first off-site fundraising event, the Spring Folic, from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, at the Colgate Inn in Hamilton.

The Spring Frolic is the organization’s second large-scale fundraiser since the New York State Department of Conservation authorized the group’s control of Rogers Conservation Education Center in 2011.

According to Friends of Rogers Coordinator Cara Sefchick, expectations for the event are high among members of the FOR committee and based on community response thus far, the occasion is almost sure to be a huge success for the education center.

“Tickets are starting to sell really fast,” she said. “We actually anticipate the event selling out.”
