NEW BERLIN – A 17-year-old student was detained Monday at Unadilla Valley Central School following a report that he’d threatened harm to himself while on school property.
The student was transported to Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown for evaluation after a search of his locker uncovered a pocket knife and two vials of prescription drugs. There were no injuries during the incident.
According to Superintendent Robert Mackey, the student only threatened himself and did not have any weapon on him at the time. The knife had been stored in his backpack.
