NORWICH – The Chenango County School Counselor Association will host its annual Spring College Day from 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Norwich Family YMCA. The goal? To motivate high school juniors – and other students – to explore the many benefits a college education can provide.
Said Sherburne-Earlville Central School counselor Candice Poyer, “It’s never too early for [students] to look into post-secondary opportunities.”
The association first began sponsoring College Day forums approximately 20 years ago. And while the number of colleges attending has varied over the years, the association typically offers a diverse representation of New York and other out-of-state colleges, said Poyer. Holding College Day in the spring, she added, helps offset similar events held in the fall in the Oneonta and Binghamton areas.
