NORWICH – Local diners who are in search of something new now have a different option at the north end of town as the Sunrise Diner officially opened its doors last week.
What’s unique about the Sunrise Diner? According to owner Chris Ziavras, it’s a daily offering of Greek specialties. Although the diner serves a variety of American classics like burgers, omelets and specialty sandwiches, it prides itself in also serving a combination of Greek foods, prepared from various cheeses and spices, and cooked in a fashion that’s not found at most other local eateries.
“We use a lot of olive oil, goat cheese and different spices to give it a different flavor,” Ziavras explained, noting that this is what separates Greek food from everything else. “The big thing is that everything has to be fresh,” he added.
