S-E 24, Mount Markham 5

SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville improved to 4-2 on the season with its best display of hitting this season, Friday afternoon against Mount Markham.

The Marauders homered three times and banged out a season-best 27 hits.

Jake Bohnert had four hits and four RBI with a two-run homer in the fifth, Mike Wilson was a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI, Dallas Moryl homered among his four hits with three RBI, while Cole Hodges, Felix Rodriguez, and Carter Cole all added three hits and three RBI, and junior Matt Smith had an inside-the-park home run.

“The kids stayed back on the ball and really drove it,” said S-E coach Brian Hicks. “Once we got through the lineup one time, we really started to hit the ball.”

Moryl pitched five innings to pick up his first win of the season.

S-E plays at Ilion today.
