GREENE – Greene blew open a close game with nine runs in the third inning in a shutout victory over Unadilla Valley Monday.
Taylor Ellis was a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBI. Rebecca Hanrahan finished 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBI, and Natalie Greene along with Morgan Ellis had two hits and two RBI each.
Hanrahan pitched three shutout innings for the win, and Shawn Ayers finished up with two scoreless frames. “We ran the bases well today and we started to hit line drives and hit the ball on the ground in the third inning,” said Greene coach Rick Smith. “We had some big hits in that third inning.”
Greene (7-0) is at B-G today.

BINGHAMTON – Norwich’s best hitting game against STAC opposition this season was overshadowed by Sam Stento’s game-winning triple.
Stento lashed a three-bagger into the gap that scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to give the Saints a comeback win.
