NORTH NORWICH – Thomas Emerson received the 27th annual Distinguished Citizen Award at the Canasawacta Country Club last night.

The mood was light, and laughter filled the air as friends and relatives gathered to celebrate and poke fun of Emerson with amusing anecdotes and fond memories.

The award is presented by the Baden-Powell Council each year to a member of the community who has demonstrated outstanding citizenship and made a significant contribution to the betterment of Chenango County.

Emerson’s children Nathaniel and Katherine MC’d the event, making gentle jabs at their father while presenting various friends who shared memories of the Oxford resident and Norwich-based attorney.
