NORWICH – The Greater Chenango Aquatics Team will host its first official Swim-a-Thon on June 29 at the Norwich High School to raise money to support the Greater Chenango Gators.

The swimmers will have two hours to swim a maximum of 200 laps for which donors are encouraged to pledge money for each length completed.

All of the money raised will go towards purchasing new equipment and swimsuits, providing scholarships for the members, and covering swim meet costs and travel expenses.

Additionally, 5 percent of the money raised will be donated to the USA Swimming Foundation, which promotes swim programs for children and young adults across the country and gives financial aid to members of the U.S. National Team.
