SMYRNA – The Smyrna Citizens Band will continue to celebrate its 94th year of summer concerts with its second weekly performance at 7:30 tonight in the bandstand above the Smyrna Public Library.
There will be a variety of musical selections for everyone’s listening pleasure, according to Smyrna Town Clerk Geraldine Day, including a special vocal performance by Connie Wright, “Beautiful Ohio.” Additional selections will include: “Profiles in Courage,” “My Fair Lady,” “Clarinet Polka,” “America the Beautiful,” “Mancini,” “Gershwin Medley,” “Lion King,” “Stage Coach Trail,” “Red Man March” and “Blue Tang.”
Performances will continue to be held each Monday evening through Aug. 6. The program is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, which is administered by the Chenango County Council of the Arts, with support from Governor Andrew Cuomo and the state legislature.
