SHERBURNE – The Sherburne Historic Park Society plans to celebrate the township’s agricultural beginnings during its annual Sherburne Heritage Day, which is set to take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Historic Park in Sherburne.

The day, called “Salute to Agriculture,” promises family fun for all ages. Events begin with the Cub Scout’s flag raising at 10 a.m., followed by the easy listening music of the 40s & 50s as performed by local musicians Jenni Larcher, Carl Pickett, and Tom Murphy from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The Blue Valley Boys, a country band, will take the stage from 12 to 2 p.m.

Included in the day’s schedule will be a Girl Scouts Centennial Celebration, commemorating 100 years since its inception, and a Relay for Life presentation.

Bringing more meaning to Heritage Day, Sherburne residents will be able to learn about the history of their town while also participating in one-room schoolhouse lessons and exploring historic displays in the Log Cabin between School Street and Champ Drive.
