PLYMOUTH – Canasawacta Country Club was no match for the two Pats – Patty Cwynar and Pat Osgood – in the women’s member-guest tournament Thursday afternoon.
After an even-par front nine, Cwynar and Osgood blistered the back nine recording five birdies in shooting a 31 on their way to a 5-under-par 66 in a captain and mate format. The winning duo was seven shots clear of the next-best score in the first flight.
Ellen Cleveland and Debbie Slentz, playing in the second flight, had the second-best gross score of the day winning with a 1-under-par 70. Tracy McCumber and Marissa Kitchen cruised to a third-flight gross score victory notching a 78.
Cwynar and Osgood had seven birdies in an 11-hole stretch from the eighth to the 18 holes carding red numbers on holes eight, nine, 10, 13, 14, 16, and 17. Winning the first flight net division was Krista Porter and Dina Hanslmaier, who finished with a 65.
Cleveland and Slentz had matching 35s on the front and back nines. The tandem finished with birdies on seven, 13, and 16. Linda Dexheimer and Ann Howard posted the low net score in the second flight touring in 64 strokes.
