PITCHER – Options for revitalizing the unused North Pitcher Church will be reviewed this evening at 6 p.m. at the church building on state Highway 26.
A new roof and other repairs are needed, meeting organizers say. “The long-term goal is to make the building once again available for family and community gatherings such as reunions, weddings, parties, etc.,” said Dave and Kai Loomis, who are hoping to get the message out to friends and neighbors who care about the landmark.
The church has been mostly vacant since the early 1970s. It was built in 1833 and rebuilt in 1895.
