Norwich 3, Ilion 2 (OT)

SHERBURNE – Following a double overtime loss to Sherburne-Earlville Friday, the Tornado showed no ill effects from that defeat winning the tournament consolation game in overtime Saturday.

Norwich scored two goals in the second half, both from sophomore Chris Trevisani. Trevisani’s second goal came on a penalty kick that helped force the extra period. It was a fortuitous bounce, though, that allowed Norwich to prevail.

Cameron Prime’s long throw-in was misplayed in goal, and went into the net for the game-winner. Prime, along with Andrew Layman, were the Tornado’s two selections to the all-tournament team.

“As proud as I was after the Sherburne-Earlville game, I was even prouder after Saturday,” said Norwich coach Steve Prime, whose club had just 10 players available for the second game, one under the prescribed limit. “It was a tremendous tournament for us and some of the best soccer I’ve seen Norwich play in several years.”
